Itinerary

Board a domestic flight from Lima to Trujillo. Upon arrival, a representative and private transport will be waiting to transfer you to your selected hotel.

Begin your morning with a private guided tour following the spiritual trail of Pope Leo XIV through Trujillo. Visit the Parish of Santa Rita de Casia, the Convent of Santo Tomás de Villanueva, the Parish of Nuestra Señora de Monserrat, the Major Seminary of San Carlos and San Marcelo, and the Archbishopric of Trujillo. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before an afternoon stroll through the Plaza de Armas and the historic Pizarro Pedestrian Walkway, surrounded by colonial architecture and centuries of history.

Start your day in the Moche Valley, welcomed by a traditional family descended from the ancient builders of the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon — the center of power on Peru's north coast during the Moche era. Marvel at the remarkable adobe murals uncovered by archaeologists on the walls of the Temple of the Moon. Continue to Huanchaco, a charming fishing village where the ancient tradition of riding hand-woven reed boats known as "Caballitos de Totora" is still very much alive. In the afternoon, explore Chan Chan, the largest mud-brick city in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, spanning over 18 km². Enter the Nik-An Palace and discover its ceremonial plazas, sanctuaries, reservoirs, and burial grounds.

Depart Trujillo toward the El Brujo Archaeological Complex, one of the most significant Moche sites in Peru. Located in the Chicama River Valley, 60 km from Trujillo, this site is home to one of the most remarkable discoveries in recent history: the mummy of the Lady of Cao, a Moche ruler whose richly adorned tomb — filled with gold, silver, and precious stones — forever changed our understanding of women in ancient Peru. The complex features three pyramids: Huaca Prieta, Huaca Cao Viejo, and Huaca Cortada. Continue by road to your hotel in Chiclayo.

Follow the spiritual legacy of Pope Leo XIV through Chiclayo. Begin at the Chiclayo Cathedral, a landmark deeply tied to his years in the region as Bishop. Continue to the Church of Santa María Magdalena in Eten, a key site in his spiritual formation and the location of a Eucharistic miracle dating back to 1649, for which he championed recognition and initiated the construction of a future sanctuary. End the journey in Monsefú, visiting the Church of San Pedro, another meaningful stop along the Pope's pastoral path. Return to your hotel with a closer, more personal understanding of the man who now leads the Catholic Church from Rome, but whose roots remain alive in northern Peru.

Start your final day with a visit to Huaca Rajada – Sipán, the archaeological complex where the legendary Lord of Sipán was discovered — one of the most important royal tombs ever found in the Americas. Continue to Túcume, a vast complex of pre-Inca pyramids revealing the splendor of the Lambayeque culture. Enjoy lunch in the city of Lambayeque before visiting the Royal Tombs Museum, home to the extraordinary jewels and artifacts found in the Lord of Sipán's tomb. Transfer to Chiclayo Airport for your domestic flight back to Lima.
